Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Ozumni LLC ("Ozumni", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares personal information through the website ozumni.com and its pages (the "Site"). Ozumni LLC is a Colorado limited liability company with its principal office at 1500 N Grant St, Ste N, Denver, CO 80203, USA. We build our own software products, deliver projects for clients and work with partners.

This policy covers the Site only. Each Ozumni product runs under its own brand and has its own privacy policy, which applies when you use that product.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you use a contact form on the Site or email us, we collect what you choose to send. Depending on the form, this can include:

  • your name and work email address;
  • your company, fund or media outlet, and its website or your LinkedIn or portfolio link;
  • the topic of your request and your answers to short questions (for example, the type of partnership or investment you are interested in, what you need built and your timeline, or a press deadline);
  • the text of your message;
  • for job applications, your area of interest and the CV you upload, with any information it contains.

Please do not send sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers, financial account details or health information) through the forms. We do not ask for it and do not need it.

When you send a form, your answers and any file you attach are sent to our Google Workspace account, where they are stored in Google Sheets and Google Drive and delivered to the right inbox by email.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our hosting provider's servers record standard technical data that every browser sends: your IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, the pages you request, the referring page and the date and time of the visit. The Site also loads fonts from Google Fonts and a 3D graphics library from the jsDelivr content network; to deliver those files, these providers receive your IP address and browser information under their own privacy policies.

Cookies and analytics. If you accept analytics in the cookie notice, the Site uses Google Analytics (Google LLC) and its cookies to measure how visitors use the Site: pages viewed, how visitors arrive, buttons clicked, whether a form was sent, and general device, browser and approximate location information. Without your consent, Google Analytics does not run. The Site also stores your cookie choice and one display setting in your browser's local storage, which contain no personal information. The Site uses no advertising trackers. See our Cookie Policy.

How we use information

  • to read and answer your request and route it to the right team (client projects, partnerships, investor relations, press or careers);
  • to evaluate partnership, investment and client opportunities and job applications, and to keep a record of our conversations;
  • to operate, maintain, secure and improve the Site, including, if you consent, measuring how it is used with Google Analytics, and to detect and prevent abuse and spam;
  • to comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We do not use the information you send through the Site for advertising, and we do not sell it. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

How we share information

We share personal information only as described here:

  • Within Ozumni, with the people who need it to answer your request.
  • Service providers that process information on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of it: Google (Google Workspace and Google Cloud) for email, form submissions, file storage and website hosting, Google Analytics for website statistics if you consent to it, and Cloudflare for domain name services. They may not use your information for their own purposes.
  • Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, under a duty of confidentiality.
  • Legal reasons: when we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or is needed to protect the rights, property or safety of Ozumni, our users or others.
  • Business transfers: if Ozumni or one of its products is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that deal, subject to this policy.

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. See Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above:

  • Messages and inquiries about client projects, partnerships, investment, press or anything else: up to 24 months after our last contact with you.
  • If you become a client, partner or investor: for as long as the relationship lasts, and afterwards as long as we need to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, generally up to 7 years.
  • Job and contractor applications, including CVs: up to 12 months after we receive them, so we can consider you for other roles. You can ask us to delete your application at any time.
  • Records of privacy requests and our responses: 24 months.
  • Technical logs kept by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting: up to 90 days.
  • Website analytics, only if you accepted analytics: 14 months in Google Analytics, then deleted automatically.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous. We may keep it longer only where the law requires it or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete personal information;
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, of targeted advertising and of certain profiling (we do not do any of these);
  • not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws, such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and Texas, have these rights to the extent those laws apply to us. We will honor reasonable requests from any visitor where we can.

To make a request, email hello@ozumni.com with the subject "Privacy request" and tell us what you would like us to do. We will verify your request by matching the information you give us with what we hold, which may mean asking you to confirm your email address. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask the agent for proof of authorization. We will respond within the time the applicable law requires: usually 45 days under US state laws and one month under the GDPR.

If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject "Privacy appeal". We will answer the appeal within the time required by law. If you are not satisfied, you may contact your state attorney general.

Notice for California residents

This section applies to California residents and supplements the rest of this policy. It is provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA) and the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), to the extent they apply to us.

In the past 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information through the Site: identifiers (such as name, email address and IP address); professional or employment-related information (such as your company, role, links you share and, for applicants, your CV); internet or other electronic network activity information (such as server log data); and any other information you choose to include in a message. We collect it from you directly and automatically from your device, for the purposes described in "How we use information", and we disclose it for business purposes to the categories of recipients described in "How we share information".

We do not sell or share personal information, we have not done so in the past 12 months, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing personal information of consumers under 16. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would give you the right to limit its use.

Do Not Track. The Site does not track visitors over time and across third-party websites, and does not allow third parties to do so. Because there is no common standard for "Do Not Track" browser signals, the Site does not respond to them. We do treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.

Visitors outside the United States

Ozumni is based in the United States, and the Site is operated from the United States. If you contact us from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where the law of your country gives you additional rights, you can exercise them by contacting us as described above. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, see the next section.

Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland (GDPR)

This section applies if the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the UK GDPR or the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection applies to our processing of your personal information. It supplements the rest of this policy.

Controller. Ozumni LLC, 1500 N Grant St, Ste N, Denver, CO 80203, USA, is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. Contact: hello@ozumni.com.

Legal bases. We process your personal information on these grounds:

  • to answer your message and to discuss a project, partnership or investment you ask us about: to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in answering inquiries and developing our business (Art. 6(1)(f));
  • to consider your job or contractor application: to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in finding the right people (Art. 6(1)(f));
  • to operate and secure the Site and to prevent spam and abuse: our legitimate interest in a safe, working website (Art. 6(1)(f));
  • to measure how the Site is used with Google Analytics: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time in our Cookie Policy;
  • to comply with the law and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) and legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that took place before. You do not have to give us personal information, but without your contact details we cannot answer you.

Your rights. You have the right to access your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, to receive it in a portable format and to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. To use these rights, email hello@ozumni.com with the subject "Privacy request". We answer within one month, which may be extended by two further months for complex requests; if so, we will tell you why. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the country where you live or work, or where you believe the law was broken.

International transfers. Ozumni and the Site are based in the United States, so information you send us is processed in the United States. Where our service providers process it, we rely on safeguards recognized under data protection law, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions where the provider is certified, or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for more information about these safeguards.

No automated decisions. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Children

The Site is intended for business visitors and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us at hello@ozumni.com and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

The Site may link to other websites, including our products and our profiles on third-party platforms. Those websites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. If the changes are material, we will also post a notice on the Site before they take effect.
